Coenzyme Q10
Coenzyme Q10 is a compound that is made naturally in the body. The body uses it to promote cell growth and to protect cells from damage that could lead to cancer. Animal studies have shown that coenzyme Q10 stimulates the immune system and increases resistance to certain infections and types of cancer.
Coenzyme Q is found in natural membranes and seems to act as a back-up system, reducing vitamin E radicals and thus keeping vitamin E efficient. Although the reduced form of coenzyme Q (ubiquinols) is an antioxidant in its own right, it is apparently more when it donates is electron in order to regenerate vitamin E.
